Ashwell House

History of Ashwell House St Albans, continued

In 2019 the building provided facilities for more than 100 Masonic bodies, including Craft, Royal Arch, Mark, and other Orders, together with several local community associations. In all it hosted approx. 350 meetings, accommodating approx. 2,500 subscribing members and their guests, whom consumed almost 10,000 meals, more than 1,000 bottles of wine, and 10,000 pints of beer.

Annual turnover of the company is now in excess of £300,000 and it is perhaps not surprising that a 180 year old building requires a continuous repairs and maintenance programme, which on average, costs in the region of £25-30,000 p.a. This programme together with the successful management of the Company lies in the capable hands of the Board of Directors, led by a Chairman and supported by nine experienced Directors, collectively holding 360 years of Masonic experience.
